Tate Dutton is the son of Monica Long and Kayce Dutton. Tate is also the grandson of John Dutton. John only recently has been able to spend time with Tate, so the two often spend time on the Yellowstone Ranch.
Growing up around the ranch has had its impact on Tate. At a young age, Tate declared he wanted to be a cowboy and was happy to get a horse from John.
